OUR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FEES EXPLAINED

Léman International School Chengdu’s fees are designed to be as inclusive as possible, covering not only your child’s academic tuition, but also many core elements of school life.

These include exciting global opportunities through Nord Anglia Education. Our pioneering collaborations with MIT, Juilliard, and UNICEF – as well as opportunities to compete, learn, and perform on an international stage – will enrich your child’s education, both in and beyond the classroom. Our fees also include exam entrance, our school bus service, and an exciting annual residential trip.

All fees are quoted in RMB and the school bus service is provided free of charge. The fees include the following items:

- English as an Additional Language Support (EAL)

- Standard SEN Support Service

- Standardised test / IB exam fees

- Standard After School Clubs (Pre-Nursery - Year 13)

- Annual Residential Trip for Year 4 to 12 

Other fees

Application fee: RMB 2,500 (new students only)
A non-refundable fee that’s payable when you submit your application.

Enrolment deposit: RMB 50,000 (new students only)
A non-refundable fee that’s payable when you accept an offer of a place at LIS Chengdu. Your deposit will be credited against the next term’s tuition fees.

Re-enrolment deposit (returning students only)
Payable each year to guarantee a place for the following school year. This deposit will be credited against the next term’s tuition fees.

Lunch fees

  Lunch cards for Pre-Nursery to Year 2 students will be kept by the classroom teacher. Students in Years 3 to 13 are responsible for their own cards. 
  • Card fee: 20 RMB.
  • Daily lunch cost (Pre-Nursery-Year 7): 33 RMB.
  • Daily lunch cost (Year 8-13): 35 RMB. 

School uniform

All students are required to wear school uniform to school. All uniform items can be purchased through the online school uniform shop.  

Optional after-school activities

Parents can choose from free after-school activities and paid options provided by external professionals. 

Special SEN Support Fee 

Fees for additional SEN support depend on the individual needs of each student. 

Laptop and calculator

A laptop is required for Years 5–13, and a TI-Nspire graphing calculator is required for Years 10–13. TI-Nspire calculators with Computer Algebra Systems (CAS) are not permitted. 

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Payment Dates

    Families have the option to pay annually or in two instalments every school year. Please note that full annual fee or instalment must be paid within 30 days of the tuition invoice being issued . A 1.5% interest charge on the second instalment is payable with the first instalment. Students may only attend school once fees have been paid. Overdue payments will incur a 5% surcharge on the outstanding balance.

    Late Enrolment

    Students enrolling after 1 October will be charged prorated tuition, with a minimum of 10% of the annual fee. Students enrolling after 1 October must pay the full fee in one payment. 

     

  • Making a payment

    Payment can be made via electronic bank transfer or debit card. We also accept cash payments; however, these can only be made in Chinese currency (RMB). Credit cards are not accepted. 

    If you choose to transfer the money electronically, a copy of the bank remittance, together with the child’s name and year group, should be sent to our office. Conversion from USD to RMB will be based on the selling exchange rate on the first working day of the month the invoice was issued, as published by the Bank of China. 

    Parents wanting to pay in USD should get in touch with our finance office. They will provide an invoice in USD.

  • Withdrawal and refunds

    To withdraw your child, a minimum of 60 days’ written notice is required for withdrawal , or 60 days’ fees will be charged in lieu of notice. Parents must ensure they receive written acknowledgement from the school following submission of the withdrawal notice.

     

    Refund Conditions for the 202 6-2027 School Year

    • Before 2 March 2026 – Full refund  
    • Between 3 March and 14 August 2026 – Full refund less the deposit of 50,000RMB
    • If a new student is joining in the middle of the academic year but the application is ultimately cancelled, the deposit of 50,000RMB will not be refunded. (New students)
    • Leaving in the middle of the academic year – 60 days’ notice of withdrawal in writing must be given to admissions office. The tuition fee will be charged as below. (Existing students)  
    • All tuition refunds shall be processed before 31 July 2027
