YEAR 5 WATER POLO DOUBLE GAMES

Our Year 5 students took part in a series of friendly water polo games during this week's double games fixture. Players were organised into small teams, providing everyone with opportunities to participate and develop their understanding of the game.

The afternoon was a great success, providing valuable opportunities for all students to develop their water polo skills in a positive and enjoyable environment. Well done to all Year 5 students for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment throughout the games.

U16 Girls Netball

The U16 girls' netball team put up a fantastic fight against a tough MCHK side this afternoon. Every player stepped up, executed the game plan brilliantly, and made valuable contributions across the court. The girls truly embodied the Knights spirit, showing remarkable determination and grit right until the final whistle. We have a few key focus areas to take into training this week as we refine our play. A brilliant effort all around—we go again next week!

U14 Boys Football

On paper, this was always going to be a tight contest, and for much of the game, it lived up to that billing. Both teams traded shots and created genuine chances to break the deadlock, with end-to-end action keeping spectators on their toes.

It was the Knights who struck first, courtesy of a superb finish from Alex, giving NAIS HK a well-deserved lead. The boys looked composed and continued to press, but a few missed opportunities proved costly. Island School grew into the game and managed to level the scores just before the half-time whistle.

A tactical formation change in the second half failed to turn the tide, as Island School capitalised on their momentum and pulled away to win 4-1. While the final scoreline reads heavily in their favour, it doesn't quite reflect the balance of play. On another day, the Knights could have easily been on level terms.

U14 Boys Volleyball

In only their second match of the season, the U14 boys’ volleyball squad delivered a performance full of energy, teamwork and determination.

Against Stamford American, the boys dominated from the first whistle. Excellent communication led to sharp movement, clever placement, and some superb attacking play. Hugh and Arthur finished points brilliantly with well-timed tips and powerful spikes, while Yash, Kris and Aden kept the scoreboard ticking over with consistently strong serves. The team’s focus and spirit shone through as they secured an impressive 25-8, 25-6 victory.

The second match against CAIS was a much tougher test. The boys supported one another superbly, covered the gaps well and produced some excellent rallies. Despite a few early unforced errors, they stayed composed and battled back. Cayden’s attacking spikes and Jan’s defensive work helped keep the squad in the contest, before a thrilling first set reached 25-25. An outstanding serve from Yash and a crucial block from Kris sealed it 27-25!

Full of confidence, the boys powered through the second set to win 25-17, completing a fantastic 2-0 victory. A brilliant day of volleyball and team spirit!

U14 Girls Volleyball

The U14 girls should be incredibly proud of their efforts this week, showing fantastic determination, teamwork, and resilience against strong opposition from HKIS and HAR. While the scores (14-25, 15-25 vs HKIS and 17-25, 18-25 vs HAR) did not reflect the effort on court; the matches featured some excellent volleyball. Special congratulations to Katelyn for her strong defensive play, Ayah for her outstanding receives, Ayla and Jocelyn for their excellent serving, Ayla for an impressive block, and Ranae for her great support and teamwork throughout. A wonderful team effort and plenty of positives to build on for the season ahead!

U16 Girls Volleyball

The U16 Girls faced Island School and HKIS in two contrasting matches.

The opening game against a strong Island School side proved challenging. Despite some promising play in the first set, which ended 25-15, the girls found it difficult to break through Island School's defence in the second, losing 25-10 and the match 2-0.

After reflecting on their performance and setting targets during the break, the team returned to face HKIS with renewed confidence and energy. Playing more cohesively as a team, they secured a hard-fought 25-22 victory in the first set. HKIS responded to take the second set 25-21, forcing a decider. The girls regrouped superbly and claimed the third set 15-11 to win the match 2-1.

It was a fantastic response to a tough start and highlighted the potential within this squad. I look forward to seeing what the team can achieve this season.

U16 Boys Volleyball

The team faced Harrow in a closely contested match. They started strongly in the first set, with Harrow providing a tough challenge, but the boys performed with intensity, ultimately losing by just four points. In the second set, they responded brilliantly—taking control and dominating 25–9. This momentum carried them into a deciding tiebreak set, where they narrowly emerged victorious, winning 15–13 and ultimately taking the match 2 – 1.

Throughout the game, the boys clearly enjoyed their performance. Their energy was high, and there was a visible belief within the group that they could win.

For the second match against Island School, we expected a difficult encounter. Despite this, the boys maintained their confidence. They ultimately lost the match, but the contest remained close. In the first set, they held the lead for much of the set, before Island School staged a comeback to take it.

Between sets, we gathered the boys to reflect on their previous performance and to build confidence moving forward. In the second set, we saw excellent resilience and determination from all six players, demonstrating strong teamwork and a refusal to give up.
